No-Ego is enough to make Self

Considering yourself the centre of the universe, believing the planets and the sun revolving around you, conveying your superiority loud and clear to others around you, maybe not in so many words, but through your “I-am-above-you” attitude are the signs showing that you are totally and without a doubt high on your ego trip.

Hilariously, the word "ego" itself is described as something central in a situation. In the context of Human psychology, it might mean a state of human mind, which makes the person believe himself to be central and superior then everyone else. He lives in an illusion that he is self sufficient, self dependent and self reliable. Even at the time of jeopardy, he never entertains the idea of asking for help or any sort of favors', even from his loved ones. He believes himself to be a somewhat high almighty, which is not dependent on any one, and can face anything on his own. What he does not realize is, while sitting in a plane about to crash, you do have to trust the pilot to get you through the journey in one piece. But as I said, ego trips do play with your mind, and leave you unable to distinguish between the happenings in your head, and the happenings in the world around you.

Another side of ego makes you sensitive to criticisms. You are so much within yourself and so much sure about yourself, that you just cannot handle someone pointing out your mistake. In life, there will be some people who will correct you when you are wrong or some other kind of people who would do the same, but with a relatively negative intention.

It is the human mind which either can be a fighter and absorb each and every criticism strongly and in a positive spirit or there are those who are so much, ego stoned that would take it negatively and highly antagonize their critique, or blame themselves to an extent that might even lead to self destruction. There is a thin line between being confidence and ego.  Needless to say, the former brings you success, and the latter just takes it all away.
