Recently I came across an advertisement of a news channel; which says
that ordinary people do listen the words and talks of viewer of this
news channel. In picture, it has depicted a person as viewer of their
news channel who is saying something and few people listen it with feel
of appreciation. I could not stop myself from appreciating the person,
who subtly has observed one of the basic human nature and has tactfully
used it in advertisement. We all love to feel special. We all like if
someone listen our words and value them.
Why I call it subtle as it hides beneath feeling of self importance. This is the main reason why we everyone wishes to be the good orator or advisor. We all want to be noticed, appreciated and recognized. Whenever, we get noticed and appreciated, we feel important and special. It makes us feel superior on others. It enhances the feeling of self importance and overall it satisfies our ego. It is hard to find a single person who does not like to hear positive things about self. In doing so, many time some of us and many of us some time cross the threshold of showing our knowledge. In this act we often take help of lies and false facts.
Spirituality has observed this nature and its dangerous consequences long back and has warned the spiritual practitioners to keep themselves away from the taste of feeling of self importance and ego. The ego developed out of knowledge is fatal. Spirituality says that, knowledge is momentous. Whatever is truth for you may not be same for others as no one else than the creator can claim to be true.
'Lord Mahavira' said that, everything is true only in a particular context.
