Four monks made an agreement to meditate in silence for a week and not to speak a single word.
On the first day, they maintained silence. But as darkness fell, the flame of the candle began to flicker...
(1) Oh, the flame is going out. Said one monk
(2) Eh, we should not speak a single word. Said the second.
(3) Why do you two want to speak? Said the third.
(4) Ha! Ha! Ha! I am the only one who did not talk. Said the fourth.
Many people, in admonishing others and pointing out their errors, very likely are themselves fallible.
